The ISYM Academy, an accelerated track within the ISYM ensemble programs, is a new opportunity for high-level performers who seek a more rigorous musical experience. Enrollment will be limited to only one or two participants per instrumental or voice area. Small chamber ensembles, lessons with University Faculty, masterclasses, special topic classes, and expanded individual practice time will comprise the majority of the day.

Those selected for The Academy will receive preference for a principal position within one of the three large ensembles.

Many of The Academy students will also have the opportunity to participate in a special “super section” of ISYM lasting two weeks. The first week will, of course, be devoted to the large ensemble experience. The second-week will focus on a Pre-college program, most closely related to the student’s instrument or voice type.

Audition Requirements: Submit a recording of at least two contrasting solos or movements from a sonata or concerto. The recording is due by May 1.
