Students are housed in the Illinois Street Residence Halls on the University of Illinois campus. Each residence hall is air-conditioned and situated less than two blocks away from the instructional facilities. Students share a room with one other participant; assignments are based on age and the program they attend. Students may request a specific person for his or her roommate. This may be arranged by indicating preferences on the Application. (Roommate requests must be mutual).

University dieticians and executive chefs prepare well-balanced meals that offer students a wide variety of options including vegetarian dishes. If a participant has special dietary needs, please contact the ISYM registrar’s office so that arrangements can be made with the University’s Dining Services staff. Meals begin with dinner on Sunday and are served through lunch on Saturday.
